Saint Sever de Moustier

Musée des Arts Buissonniers: An Unusual Excursion!

A unique destination is the Musée des Arts Buissonniers in Saint-Sever-de-Moustier. This museum offers a distinctive experience for those interested in Art Brut, an artistic movement introduced by Jean Dubuffet in Paris in 1948. Dubuffet defined this movement as art that is spontaneous and inventive, independent of traditional artistic norms and cultural influences, and often stemming from the creativity of individuals outside the professional artistic circles.

The museum displays an impressive collection of works that reflect the raw, unrestrained character of Art Brut. Here, you'll find paintings, drawings, and sculptures that, through their authenticity and simplicity, offer a different perspective on art. What makes this visit even more special is that the entrance is completely free, allowing everyone to enjoy the impressive and sometimes bizarre artworks. A visit to this museum is truly a must for art lovers in its purest form.
